The award winning show was born to give the patients of the unit in Cardiff a voice, give them the opportunity to express themselves with words and with music whilst undergoing treatment.
Cancer is a scary word. Especially for someone in their teens.
The Cardiff unit is the only one in Wales and is based at the University Hospital of Wales (Just around the corner from the Radio Glamorgan studio).
In 2018, The show won a national award at the National Hospital Broadcasting Awards in Windsor.
What the judges said …
“This programme really stood out – a brave programme to produce, effectively handing over the airwaves to an amazing group who handle it brilliantly and produce a warm, friendly, and brilliant programme that is worth listening to again and again.
An excellent way to promote the Teenage Cancer Trust and an exceptional piece of radio”
On the way back from the awards, we may have celebrated with a video (more of which you can see on our Facebook page)
